Microsoft IntelliPoint Replacement - Customize your Microsoft Mouse buttons

Hi all, I bought recently Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 and had to update to In tellipoint 5.4. Very often clicks on any of buttons produce unexpected result, as if I am ho lding CONTROL key on the keyboard . I have to press CONTROL key several times to "clear" this effect.Does anyone have the same problem? What to do to solve it?Thanks, Temuri

I can confirm this, I'm having the same issue. (CTRL+ALT getting "stuck" (qu ite often !), pressing the key on the keyboard "releases" it) My Config: Wirel. Laser Mouse 6000 + Intellipoint 5.5 Also, we are not alone: take a look at this mesage: http://hardware.mcse.ms/message60168.html This thread was started in 2004 (with Intellipoint 5.2) !!!!This problem does NOT seem to be specific to a certain IPoint Version or to a specific Mouse Model.This is really an annoying Bug, it has been reported multiple times by multiple users. Microsoft is evil, that's a fact :-)

In the meantime, we tried to resolve this problem by writing a small "mouse
driver" that would totally replace that buggy Intellipoint Software.

does not try to access Internet as Intellipoint does (I wonder what the fcu
k IP is trying to do when connecting to MS servers), and is only 35 kbytes.You can try it yourself if your mouse has one or two extra buttons. Just mak

Ctrl key is often stuck. Have to press Ctrl and release to fix it. my system: - WinXP SP2 - Intellimouse Optical USB (w/ wheel + 2 side buttons) - Intellipoint 5.2Left side = Launch Windows Explorer Right side = Close (or Ctrl F4)Bug? Anyone else experience the same?Thanks

This is NOT a Keyboard issue. This is a Mouse issue. I set my right side-button as Exit App, but instead of pressing Alt-F4, sometimes it pressed Ctrl-Alt-F4! Then you might want to be a bit more descriptive about the symptoms. Because a "stuck key" is a physical problem. There is in fact a "stuck key" error a machine can receive on POST which is in fact the key being stuck down. Are you seeing combinations working when they shouldn't (like CTRL-C for copy or CTRL-V for paste)?
